DESCRIPTION

Masala upma is a tasty breakfast dish made from semolina or rava. This breakfast dish can be cooked in many ways with different ingredients along with semolina. Our ready-to-cook Masala Upma mix will help you reduce the preparation time and enjoy your favorite breakfast piping hot in a few minutes

INGREDIENTS

METHOD

• Boil 2 ½ to 3 cups of water with 1 tbsp of oil or ghee.
• Add chopped vegetables to the boiling water for a better taste.
• Add 100 grams of Masala Upma mix slowly and mix well.
• Cook the mixture for 3-4 minutes on low flame constantly mixing it to a uniform mass.
• Add 1 tbsp oil/ghee, chopped coriander, and mix well.
• Keep aside for 5-6 minutes with lid closed and serve hot.
• Garnish with fresh grated coconut before serving.

Notes

You can add any chopped vegetables of your choice to the boiling water. Carrots, beans, and green chilies are usually added to the improve the taste of Masala Upma.

Chef’s Tips

• Garnish Masala Upma with fresh coriander leaves.
• You can fry curry leaves before the first step by adding a little oil to the pan. When the curry leaves are fried, you can add water and follow the rest of the steps

Serving Suggestions

Serve Masala Upma with peanut chutney powder, coconut chutney, sambar, and a cup of filter coffee or masala tea. You can also elaborate this dish by serving it with Vada, which can be easily prepared using our Khazana Ready-to-Cook Vada mix.
